17″ Stubben Edelweiss Close Contact English Saddle

How sharp is this saddle?! We love Stubben Saddles, and like many of our clients, we got our equine career started in one very similar to this one. This darling English saddle is a Edelweiss NT CC, from Stubben’s newer line of saddles, with the fancy, shaped knee block and upgraded leather. Seriously, the leather is just outstanding on this saddle. It’s butter soft!  The initials “NT” on the flap means it has short tree points, making this a great option for short packed, stronger withered horse. Think Morgan, Arab, or pony crosses. This is a true Close Contact saddle, with a forward set flap with a high knee block, making it perfect for jumping. The flaps are still straight enough for flat work or HUS classes. Per serial number, this one has a 31cm tree, which is annotated as D instead of 31. 31cm tree is Stubben’s Medium Wide tree, measuring 4.5″ with a semi-wide channel and very low gussets, giving this one a great close contact feel. We feel it fits closer to a wide fitting Medium. 17″ seat, fitting true to that with a more open, hunter style seat and offers Stubben’s famed narrow twist. This is an incredibly comfortable saddle! This saddle is in a rich, chocolate brown. This saddle has been incredibly well cared for, showing far less use than most. In fact, we feel it’s spent most of its life being babied and oiled often with how soft the leather is. The only blemishes to note is a bit of faint rubbing along the top of the cantle and a bit of rubbing to the welting along the front of the pommel from saddle racks. Billets and flocking are in near perfect condition. This is such a sharp saddle. It won’t be easy to find an Edelweiss in this condition at this price!
