19″ Sankey Barracuda Buffalo Dressage Saddle

This is such a nice saddle! Grippy, pretty, high end, and so affordable! Made by Scottish Master Saddler Andrew Sankey of Sankey Saddlery. Sankey is a smaller saddler, and while not as recognized in the US, is an incredibly popular one in the UK and abroad. Each saddle are made in his shop, with the best materials, and rooted in Master Saddler education. We are in absolute love with this saddle! Per the flap, this one is an 18.5″, however fits and measures true to 19″. Yes, seriously!!! It is also stamped Medium, but has a more “U” shaped tree that measures 5″, fitting on the wide side of Medium Wide. Wider channel and curvier tree, making this a great option for wider horse with some shape to their top line. The leather on this saddle is incredible. Full buffalo leather, which is highly textured making it incredibly grippy. The leather on this is butter soft as well. The texture has smoothed a bit where the leathers hang, but still has lots of grip. the knee rolls and panels are buffalo as well. Has a nice, deep and scoopy seat, narrow twist, and wider seat that is so darn comfy and secure. 17” flap that is very slightly forward set, long/bold block to keep you leg secure. Center billet and self-balancing Y rear billet to secure three different points of the tree. Billets were replaced not too long ago. Slightly deeper rear gussets, wider channel, and surprisingly short panel at just 20.5”. Wool flocked and has recently had a full strip flock so is ready to go. This saddle has been incredibly well maintained, the leather so darn soft, and shows less use than you’d expect from a saddle ridden almost daily. Only showing a few minor/typical signs of use. This one is proof that quality tack lasts. We just love this saddle, we know you will too!
