16.5″ McLelland’s Saddlery Cutting Saddle

This saddle is so darn nice! From the famed McLelland Saddlery, this cutting saddle is the real deal. This cool saddle is a cool crossover of a cutting saddle and ranch horse saddle, but is truly comfortable enough for all day riding. Has a 17″ seat, but with the deep seat bed and padding, fits true to 16.5″. Built on QH Bars, measures 7″, however, does have a bit of a different tree shape. Is more “A” framed and more upright in shape, with a ton of wither clearance. Does have a moderately wide shoulder flare. This is a great option for an athletic built horse who is narrower in the spine while being wider through the shoulder and barrel. Is also built ‘up hill’ so is a great option for those doggy, downhill modern cow horses out there. Fully roughed out, giving this saddle lots of security, with a padded full grain leather seat. Equitation cut skirt that gives you leg a great, close contact feel. Too often, it can be really hard to find cow horse saddles that will fit shorter riders’ legs. The fenders on this one have been professionally shortened, going short enough for most youth or petite riders, but no length was cut–so still will go long! Leathers have half holes as well, so offers a ton of adjustment. Surprisingly short skirted. This one does offer a true cutting horn that measures 4″. Finally, this quality saddle is finished off with a Southwestern style concho from Hanson Western Gear (HWG). This saddle has been impeccably cared for. Leather is butter soft, showing typical/minor signs of use such as some discoloration from chaps on the jockeys and fenders. This is an outstanding quality saddle, one that will look perfect in the ranch horse show pen, but hardy/trustworthy enough for daily riding. You don’t see many used McLelland’s out there. This is one to grab!
