16″ About The Horse Black Rhino Trail Saddle

Not only is this saddle beautiful and comfortable, its made by a great custom saddler from right here in Minnesota–Black Rhino/About the Horse. Designed to truly be an all around saddle-secure enough for speed events, durable enough for a bit of hard work, comfortable for the trails! This one is a 16″ seat, fitting a bit smaller as it has a great deep seat with ample padding. 3.5″ cantle, tall forward set horn, and open seat makes this both secure without being constricting. This is the Men’s Trail saddle, with a deeper and wider seat bed, very adjustable fenders that go long, and free hung fenders. Ladies, don’t let the design scare you away, this one has been owned and ridden by female riders who have loved it! Its on a #2 bar, which is ATH’s equivalent to Arab bars, measuring a wide 8+” with a very wide fork angle, fitting low and wide, with rock to the bar. The #2 bar is designed for a horse with a well sprung rib cage, and gentle curve to the topline. This is a great option for many horses, not just Arabs or gaited horses. 27.5″ double skirt, angled rigging to free up your horse’s shoulder, and comes fully fitted with all rigging–but does not come with stirrups. While this is an older saddle, is in outstanding condition, clearly seeing very little ride time. It has been in storage for some time, so is a bit drier than we’d like to see, but has already softened up with just a bit of conditioning. In a pretty chestnut color, fully basketweave stamped on the cantle, pommel, skirts, and rigging. This saddle is built to hold up forever, and often well made saddles don’t mean light. This one is hefty, weighing in at 42lbs. However, you can be sure it will last a few lifetimes with proper care. ABT saddles aren’t cheap, so jump on this opportunity while it lasts!
