17” Langerud Custom Slick Seat Ranch Roping Saddle

It is getting harder and harder to get ahold of a used Langerud Custom Saddle, especially some of the ‘fancier’ ones. Cliff is retired…mostly…kinda…so its worth taking advantage of the rare used ones. When we say ‘used’ in this case, we mean hardly used. This saddle has seen very little ride time, impeccable care, and hasn’t been roped off of. It’s barely broken in! The was designed to be a heck of a work saddle, but doesn’t give up on comfort. It will trail ride just fine! This 17″ slick seat, high back ranch roper is made on a heavy, heavy duty Bowden Olin Young roper tree, with a heavily reinforced post horn, on Wade bars that flare in the shoulder with less tree in the front, perfect for those thicker ranch horses. Fits a bit smaller than 17″, as it has a 4.5″ cantle, one that will keep you secure. On QH bars that measure 6.5″ x 8″, offering plenty of wither clearance, but will fit wider than it measures, almost as wide as Full Bars, with the Wade bars, offers a bit of rock as well. Angled rigging to free the shoulders up, 28″ skirt in an equitation style to free up your leg, heavy weighted stirrups on fenders that have lots of room for adjustment. Made in a heavier ounce leather from Wickett & Craig in a lovely chestnut color, finished off with classic basketweave tooling on the skirts and swells. Comes fully fitted with all rigging. Could easily have bucking rolls added. If you’re looking for a light saddle…this is not your saddle. It’s built to work, and with the necessary reinforcement for a true rope saddle, means it’s heavy. This one weighs a hefty 42lbs. While we make it our goal to offer (let’s be real…collect) Langerud Saddles, these are getting hard and hard to get ahold of. You won’t find one like this, in this condition much longer. Grab it while you can!
