This is such an interesting saddle! While we don’t recognize the maker, it is clearly we very well made saddle and is one that will last. We haven’t been able to find out much info about it, so are presenting it off measurements. Regardless of its lack of brand recognition, wait until you see it in person. It is so nice, and it is so comfortable! Very much built in a 1980’s style equitation saddle style, but is a true all around type saddle. Offers a true 16″ seat that has a raised twist and deeper seat bed. While it has a lower cantle, this saddle finds your bum and keeps it secure with a ‘scoopy’ shaped seat bed. Build on a rawhide wrapped wood tree, on what appears to be QH bars, measuring 7″ with a moderate shoulder flare, slightly wider shape through the whole tree, shorter bar length at the front, and moderate rock through the bars. This one fits low and wider. Has in-skirt brass (Bork) rigging that ties into multiple points of the tree, securing the saddle well, as this one does not have a rear cinch ring. The rigging is slightly dropped to open up the shoulder. The skirts is rounded and narrower, helping to cut down on weight while also offering a closer contact feel. Made from heavier ounce, dark oiled leather that has been very well cared for and is quite soft. Duck bill style horn that is reinforce that is perfect for light dallying. There are elements that make it clear this builder knew what they were doing. Double stitching along the skirt to make sure the real wool shearling will last, open rear skirts to offer spinal relief, and very pretty lacing over the swells. No tooling on this one, so makes cleaning way easier! Finally, this one is finishes off with a really pretty, clearly hand made and hand engraved brass conchos. The stirrups are not original, but are a really nice pair of rawhide ones. Per the serial number, we are guessing this one was made in 1996 and despite being an older saddle, this one has been incredibly well cared for. Very nice leather that has been very well maintained, showing minor signs of use such as a few minor scuffs and scrapes. If this one had a more recognizable maker, it would be priced far higher. Here is a great opportunity to get a really nice saddle for a steal!
