Ok, we love, LOVE Lovatt & Ricketts (LNR) saddles. Love them! We learned something new with this one, however. As you all know, LNR saddles are not cheap, and for good reason. They are exceptionally well made. A few times in LNR’s history, they have offered an economy line of saddles, Imperial by Lovatt & Ricketts, made by the same saddlers to the same standards, but more simple in design and with slightly lower quality leather. Basically you can the same, trustworthy saddle without the high price tag! This pretty brown dressage saddle is from LNR’s Imperial line of saddles. Offers a generous fitting 18″ seat that is quite deep, while still offering a very narrow twist. On a Medium tree (fits on wide side of medium) that measures 4.5″ with a wider channel. Very traditional in style, with very low/long knee rolls, straighter flaps, and thinner knee patches. This is perfect for riders who appreciate traditional style saddles that don’t feel confining. It’s also perfect for a leggy rider!! The flaps measure 18″! Has straighter center billets, which could be adjusted by a saddler if needed. Billets are in good condition. While this is an older saddle, it has been well maintained. Does show a few scuffs and scrapes, with some normal signs of use. However, overall it’s in good used condition. The flocking is interesting on this one, as it’s foam over wool, so could be adjusted by a saddler. This is a lovely, affordable saddle that is perfect for riders who have a beer budget but champagne taste!
