4 7/8″ Ervin Quick Curb Bit w/ Hooded Copper Roller

Here is a cool bit! Quick Bits have a ‘look’ to them, as they really owned the market of aluminum shank bits. This one is an early one, and if it wasn’t marked, you’d think it would be by another builder. But, it is marked Quick and boy is this a cool bit! This is an early, early bit made by Ervin Quick, before it was transferred to his son Mike Quick. Despite this one being older, its in very good used condition. Bit is full alloy (brass, stainless), with a solid mouth and offering a lower port that this hooded with a free spinning roller. Port measures 1 1/2″. Loose jaw shank, with a bit of movement at the shank, that is swept back and measures 7.5″ to rein ring. Has original bit stabilizer bar. This is such a cool bit, with a great balance and feel. Is much weightier than most Quick Bits. In very good used condition, showing some natural patina, few scuffs, but is solid and ready to ride.
