Gentle Control Hackamore

Here is a very lightly used Gentle Control Hackamore (GCH). This company is family owned with each piece hand crafted in Idaho! The GCH was designed to offer a kinder hackamore while improving communication between horse and rider. This one is in black and comes with a wide and very soft leather noseband that connects to the headstall. Offered way less than retail, and without the wait of a custom order! Per GCH:

The GCH will fit any size headstall as long as it has a throat latch.  The throatlatch goes through the keeper loop at the top of the GCH where it is suspended at three points (the other two being the headstall attached between the braided hackamore buttons).  Any style of reins is compatible with the GCH as long as the rein attachment points are no wider than 5/8 inch.  The GCH hangs just like a halter until pressure is applied.  The adjustment for the GCH is 1 inch clearance between the jaw and control plate please see photos.  In order to accommodate the one inch of clearance, adjust the headstall to raise or lower the hackamore for fit.

The fulcrum point is in the middle of the control plate, half way between the rein attachment points and the lower jaw contact point.  This positioning allows the horse to feel exactly the same pressure that is applied to the reins.  When pressure is applied for reining, backup, stop, or collection, pulling on the reins will pivot the top end of the control plate.  It is a pound for pound pressure, just like a teeter-totter.  Once pressure is released, the horse feels instant and total release as the plate drops right away from the horse.  The positioning of the plate under the jaw is higher than where the nose band is, which encourages the horse to break at the poll.
