16” American Flex Endurance Saddle

These cool flex panel saddles have a near cult following and it’s easy to see why. We are excited to offer such a cool saddle! When Len Brown sold, it was first purchased by a German Saddler, who took the brand on as American Flex, sometimes known as America-Flex, building the same theory into each saddle, but now offered with the exceptional German leather and craftsmanship we have come used to from German saddlers. Now, OrthoFlex and American Flex are built by Evolutionary Saddles, so these ones are hard to come by.

This is one a cross over of a couple models. It has the seat and padding of an Officer/Captain, the fenders of a Caliente or Liberty, and tree of the classic Endurance. This saddle integrates the balance and feel of a dressage saddle, the security of an endurance saddle, fenders of a western saddle, deep seat for security, and the flex panels to offer great fit options for your horse. 16″ seat, but with the very deep seat and ample padding, fits like 15.5″. This one has very adjustable “Y” Center Fire style rigging, short skirt at 23″, fleece lined panels, and very adjustable fenders that are topped off with padded stirrups. This is an older saddle, one that hasn’t been used much but has been in storage for years. Thankfully, it’s been stored well, but with leather, time can be it’s own issue. It has dried out considerably from its life of unemployment, but has already softened a bit with some of our shop-made conditioner. A bit more time, it will be soften right up. Shows a few scuffs/scrapes, but all minor and cosmetic. All stainless hardware, plenty of rings and strings for your packs, and finished off with a nice silver concho. The panels are sounds, fleece does show some discoloration from use, but minor. Lovely saddle, one that is worth a bit of time investment to save some money. These saddles are rarely this affordable!
