17.5″ Lovatt & Ricketts Ellipse Dressage Saddle

Ok, we love, LOVE Lovatt & Ricketts (LNR) saddles. Love them! In fact, we love them so much, we’ve had a solid handful over the years. This one is an Ellipse, made popular by the narrower flaps, incredible close contact feel, and very narrow trust. Stamped 17.5″, fitting generously with a deep seat, narrow twist that feels so secure. This one is stamped having a Medium tree, however it fits closer to Medium Wide with a wider channel, slightly curvier tree, and wider tree points. Gullet measures 5″. This is a great option for a wider/thicker built horse that has some shape to their top line. This one has all bull leather that is both soft and extra grippy, with a buffalo leather insert at the very top of the flap/under the stirrup bar to improve durability. Has LNR’s popular adjustable stirrup bars, too! Has a self-balancing rear billet which offers more stabilization by securing extra points of the saddle, plus a standard front billets. Billets have been replaced relatively recently and are in very good condition. Offers a slightly forward set flap with moderately bold blocks under the knee roll, offering ample support without being confining. Take a look at that seat! It is incredibly deep while still offering a narrow twist. There’s a reason that many LNR lovers even trail ride in these saddles. This is an older saddle, but has been well cared for. Leather is butter soft, flocking maintained well. Does show minor scuffs/marks and signs of use, but all very minor. Has a bit of minor rubbing at the top of the cantle, but again all minor and typical signs of use. This is a lovely saddle, one that will last forever will good care. Wait until you ride in it!
