17.5″ Ovation Ruiz Diaz Dressage Saddle

This super nice saddle is the perfect marriage between quality, affordable, and offering wool flocking! From Ovation, the Ruiz Diaz Dressage is an earlier model that eventually became the Salinero. While many riders don’t necessarily recognize the name “Ruiz Diaz”, RD is the parent company of Ovation, Pessoa, and previously Collegiate. This nice dressage saddle offers a classic look with plenty of modern features. Full grain leather that is both soft and grippy, with a VERY generously fitting 17.5″ seat that is semi-deep with a narrow twist. Slightly forward set flaps that measure 17″, finished off with a moderate/long knee block that offers plenty of support without being constricting. On a Wide tree, measuring 6″, fitting wide with a “U” shaped tree that is a bit curvier with a wide channel. Almost a high head tree, so offers great wither clearance. This is a great option for those foundation type QH horses or Warmbloods out there. Somehow, this one gets better! This one is wool flocked! The panels are lined with foam, flocked with wool for even more adjustment. Offers a forward set point billet that stabilizes the front of saddle well with a straight rear billet. Shorter panel at just 19″, standard gussets, and is just a darn nice saddle. Billets are sound. While this is a bit of an older saddle, it has been well cared for. Leather is very soft and grippy, showing less use than you’d expect. Does have some rubbing along the edges of the flaps, right above the knee blocks. This one is nice and is budget friendly!
