17.5″ Sankey Buffalo Dressage Saddle

If you want to stand out a bit as a dressage rider, but not too much–this is the saddle for you! This one is a rich, chocolate brown making it the perfect (and passive..and maybe a bit petty) snub against all the black tack in the dressage world. Made by Scottish Master Saddler Andrew Sankey of Sankey Saddlery. Sankey is a smaller saddler, and while not as recognized in the US, is an incredibly popular one in the UK and abroad. Each saddle are made in his shop, with the best materials, and rooted in Master Saddler education. We are in absolute love with this saddle! Not only is it absolutely gorgeous, it’s incredibly grippy. It has high texture buffalo leather over the jockeys and flaps with suede leather over the seat and knee rolls–this is one that will keep you bum and leg exactly where you put it. Offers a true 17.5″ seat that is quite deep with a very narrow twist. On a Medium Wide tree that measures 5″, however this one is flocked quite full to have quasi shoulder gussets so with how the current flocking is, will fit a bit closer to Medium. This one recently had a full flock and has clearly been very well maintained. Does have a unique billet set up with a slightly forward set front billet (not a point) and the rear billet set very far back, almost like a modified Y billet set up. This is a great option for securing the front and rear of the saddle. Billets are in excellent condition. This saddle overall is in absolutely outstanding condition. Showing far less use than you’d expect, showing only a few faint rub marks from leathers, but minimal. The leather on this one is incredibly soft and incredibly grippy.
