17.5″ Thorowgood Ajustable Close Contact English Saddle

This is such a nice saddle! Thorowgood saddles have become barn favorites and it is easy to see why. While they are well recognized as making outstanding synthetic saddles, they make leather saddles too. This one is missing its billet covers, so we aren’t sure what model it is, but we believe it’s the T8 jump. Per the flap stamp, this one is a 17.5″ seat, fitting true to that with a semi-open, hunter style seat all the while still having a very narrow twist. On Thorowgood’s popular adjustable gullet system, able to be adjusted from X-Narrow to X-Wide by simply changing out the gullet plate. This one takes the long plates (R Bar), which is specifically designed for horses who need more wither clearance. Currently has a white gullet (X-Wide) currently installed. To make fit even better, these saddles are fully wool flocked. We just did a full strip-flock on it, so is ready to go! These saddles also have adjustable billets, which are easily and quickly able to be changed, giving even more options for saddle fit. In a pretty, dark brown color with a highly textured leather over the knee roll, giving extra grip and security. Flaps are semi-forward, perfect for jumping but more than appropriate for hunt seat classes. Has velcro patches under the knee roll and at the thigh to have additional blocks added, currently it does not have blocks. While an older saddle, has been well cared for. Clearly oiled often as the leather is incredibly soft. Shows minor/typical blemishes and signs of use but again this quality saddle has been well looked after.
