17″ Thorowgood Griffin Dressage Saddle

This is such a nice saddle!  Thorowgood saddles have become barn favorites and it is easy to see why! This one is fully synthetic, so no maintenance for care at all! The Griffin is now known as the Pony Clubber, designed for wider, flatter, shorter backed horses. Perfect for our pony people! It measures 17″ and has a longer, slightly forward flap that measures 17″, perfect for a leggier rider. While it is a dressage saddle, these have been popular and comfortable saddles for trail riders and endurance riders. Has a large velcro patch under the flap to allow for blocks to be added in varying positions. Does not come with blocks. This is an older one, so does not come with the adjustable gullet system. Fits like X-Wide, with the gullet measuring 6″ with a more “U” shaped tree and wider channel. This is a perfect option for ponies or chunkier horses out there. Billets are set up in a Y configuration, with a very forward set front billet and rear billet quite far set, meaning both the front and rear of the saddle are well secured. This is another great tool to reduce slipping on horses that are very…round. This saddle is fully synthetic, requiring very little maintenance. While an older one from Thorowgood, it has been well cared for and shows less use than you’d expect. Is just a bit dusty from storage. This low maintenance, quality saddle is absolutely one to see. At this price, you really can’t go wrong!
