YES, this saddle is as soft as it looks! Seriously, the leather on this saddle is butter soft. Showing that quality tack with good care will last. The County Conquest has continued to be one of the most popular models County has ever offered, suiting a wide variety of riders. It offers a more open seat, almost a hunter style with a flap that is supportive of jumpers but more than appropriate for flat classes. In fact, this saddle is as popular in the breed show hunter under saddle rings as it is in the hunter/jump ring! This County Conquest is an older one (2000) model but has been impeccably cared for. Offers a true 18″ seat, with a great narrow twist and more open seat. Per the flap, this one is on a Medium tree, fitting on the wide side of Medium measuring 4.5″. Open tree points that has a wider channel, and just a bit curvy. Perfect for a strong withered horse with a well defined top line. Shorter panel at just 20.5″ with standard gussets. Standard flap 13.5″ that is wider, paired with knee and thigh blocks, this one is supportive without being bulky. Brilliantly maintained, with a nearly new set of billets on each side and we’ve just done a full reflock on it. Has darkened a bit to a rich chocolate brown, and again the letter is butter soft. Shows less use than you’d expect from an older saddle, showing nothing more than a handful of typical blemishes such as a bit of rubbing. The only thing to note is that the billet covers are missing on this saddle. Additionally, the writing on the seat flat is VERY faint. This is a heck of a saddle, one that won’t last long!
