18″ DP Saddlery Baroque SKL Saddle

This has to be one of the coolest and most unique saddles we’ve had in recently! From DP Saddlery, this unique saddle is inspired by Iberian/Baroque saddles, which were designed to be a true multi-use saddle of the Spanish and Iberian Peninsula regions. Horse breeds such as the Andalusian and Lusitano are compact, wider, and incredibly athletic. And whose riders did everything from working livestock, dressage, long rides, and more. This saddle carries on that tradition in both construction and fit. DP calls this one their Baroque SKL (Model 1011), built on the incredibly popular Ultra-Flex tree, which is a fully adjustable gullet with an Allen wrench tool, adjusting from X-Narrow to X-Wide with a few turns, and supporting the horse with every step. This one comes with its adjustment tool. Per serial number, this one is on the #3 seat, which fits like 18.5″ in English or 17″ in western. Made in a stunning, two-toned leather with rich dark oiled leather flaps and black Nappa leather inlay on the flap and seat. The cantle roll and front pommel are also in black. Finished with a simple stamped border. The flaps on this saddle are a really cool design. The stirrup leathers go between the top and bottom flap to reduce bulk and pinching, the bottom flap is a half flap which gives an incredibly close contact feel. Dressage billets with one set as a point billet and the rear as self-balancing one to help secure the full tree. Velcro patches at the front allow for the placement of blocks if needed. Does not come with blocks. The panels on the underside is a cool shape, with cut outs where you leg lays. The panels go down the full flap to offer lots of adjustment options for your horse–and to reduce rolling on those round horses out here. This saddle is wool flocked and can be reflocked by a saddler. Has a higher cantle with rings to add strings to or for packs. This lovely saddle was ordered new and, while used, has been incredibly well cared for. Only shows a few minor/faint scuffs, with one slightly deeper mark on the off side flap from the tack room. This saddle is just lovely and is offered far less than its new price! This saddle is ready to do just about anything–dressage, trail riding, endurance–and you’ll be one of the coolest riders anywhere you go!
