18″ Stubben Survival Trail Close Contact English Saddle

We are far too fond of this saddle! This is only the second time we’ve seen a Stubben Survival in our shop and we love this one as much as the first time around. This cool saddle is the perfect marriage between endurance/trail saddle and a close contact jump saddle. A true 18″ seat, with forward set flaps that measure 13.5″, with a really cool block. Has rear blocks and front blocks, with the knee rolls that have inlaid pockets to reduce the bulk under the rider’s knee. Very narrow twist and nice, scoopy seat. The leather on the jockeys and flap is lightly textured that gives this saddle extra grip, topped off with suede knee rolls for even more security. Marked as a 32cm tree, which is Stubben’s Wide, with the gullet measuring 5.5″. Stubben’s have more of an “A” framed tree, which is a great option for a wider shoulder with a more upright spine. This one has ample wither room, narrower channel, and low gussets. This would be a great option for those pony/athletic crosses. This one has lots off brass rings to hang packs, breast plates, or cruppers on. Despite being an older saddle, this saddle has been incredibly well cared for. The leather on this saddle is literally butters soft, billets look great, and has less wear than you’d expect for a saddle of this age. Has a couple stops of faint discoloration and a couple scuffs, that’s it! It is nearing the point of needing to be reflocked. You don’t see many of these available, that’s for sure.
