5.5″ Myler Low Port MBL Short Shank Curb

This Myler MBL Short Shank curb is in lightly used condition. Offers a 5.5″ mouth with Low Port Comfort Mouth (MB 04) which offers ample tongue relief with limited correction. Level 2-3 bit. Short shank at just 5.5″. Sweet iron mouth that will rust with time and use. This one has seen very little use, with just a teeny bit of rust. Great, hardly used bit for a fraction of its new price! The MB 04 provides an excellent transition from Level One to Level Two. It is suitable for a wide range of horses, including green horses, experienced horses entering the Myler System, horses that have been ridden exclusively in a single-jointed mouthpiece, or horses that have not been ridden for a while needing re-schooling. The MBL Shank is a length of flat stainless steel curved slightly back towards the horse, with a teardrop purchase and a rein ring. The mouthpiece attaches loosely to the cheek with a small decorative stack that allows ⅛” of slide, just enough to allow more tongue relief. The purchase is angled slightly away from the cheek to avoid rubbing. The MBT has the patented Independent Swivel Cheek, where the purchase, mouthpiece, and shank all move independently of each other. The MBL is an indirect (curb) rein action designed to be used with a curb strap that attaches to the purchase. The MBL uses the combination of fixed cheek and fixed rein to apply pressure to the mouth, chin, and poll. Recommended for use with ported mouthpieces.
