5 3/8″ Vintage Half Breed Style Curb Bit

Here is a cool bit! We wish we had the full history on this bit-it isn’t marked but is truly a vintage bit that came from the personal collection of a well respected, and long time collector out of Arizona. Given its age, it is surprising to see a larger mouth on it at 5 3/8″, with a fixed mouth and cheek. The port is narrow and tall-almost in a half breed style without a roller. Very refined shanks that have some really nice detailing on them, with a large domed concho on the side. We are not sure what the silver tone metal is-given the tarnish its likely nickel or low purity sterling. Either way, it has a stunning look. Comes with a curb chain that is not original. This bit has had a professional (and darn good) repair to the shank and stabilizer bar that are just a don’t show the same amount of tarnish as the rest of the bit. This one is quite weighty, brilliantly balanced and has a great feel. 1 3/4″ port, 8 1/2″ shank. This bit is one to see! Ready to ride or add it to your collection.
