5″ Bob Blackwood BB Western Curb Bit

Bob Blackwood is known as a heck of a spur maker. He didn’t make many bits, but the ones he did are highly collectable and rarely available on the used market. This classic curb is marked with Bob’s BB mark. In what some people call a grazing bit, this one is an iron bit that has a blackened finish to it. Fixed mouth and shank, 5″ mouth, slightly thicker diameter mouth with a low, rounded port. Not terribly heavy and has a great balance and feel. Short shanks at just 6.75″. Very, very lightly used but has clearly been in storage for some time. Has a bit of surface rust but no pitting, does have some fading to the blackened finish. Grab this bit while you can, it may be a while until you see another one like it!
