5” Boyd “B.E”. Eichhorn Silver Mounted Snaffle Bit

The late Boyd “B.E”. Eichhorn is well recognized for his skill and craftsmanship in the bits, spurs, and buckles he made over his life. Completely self-taught, he was passionate about creating working pieces of art. He wanted riders-from the upper levels to cowboys to the weekend rider-to have an attractive, well-made bit/spur that would hold up to even the hardest of use. He signed his work simply, with his initials “BE”, to let the bit/spur stand for itself. Sadly, he passed in 2012. Since then, it’s getting harder and harder to find his work on the used market.

Here is an outstanding example of his work. 5” silver mounted western D snaffle, all iron, with silver mounted on the inside of the cheek and mouth. Thinner diameter mouth, snaffle joint, with nice contour. Standard cheek at 3.25” diameter. This bit is in excellent used condition. As with any iron bit, there is some surface rust from time and use, but no breaks, completely sound. Silver work is lovely and in great condition. Nice weight to this bit. This one is ready to ride, show, or add to your collection.
