Here is another one of those ‘trusty rusty’ saddles, made when saddles were made right and tight. This is an older, nearing vintage 13″ Simco All Around saddle-ready to barrel race, trail ride, or for 4H. Given the style this one is from the late 1970’s or 1980’s, when suede skirts were all the rage before rough-out leather became popular. This one measures 14″ to stitching, but with the higher twist, fitting like at 13″. On Semi bars that measures 6”, with flare and a bit of rock. This is a great option for a narrower built horse that needs a shorter skirt. VERY short skirt at just 22”. Fenders have decent adjustment. They don’t go terribly long, but go plenty short! This is a true youth friendly saddle! 3” cantle, 2.5” horn. Offers bear trap style swells, and paired with the suede jockeys/seat, this one will ride securely. Has slightly set back rigging to open up the shoulder. Fancy stitched suede over the seat and jockeys that give this one lots of grip. Not terribly heavy thanks to the single, high cut round skirt. This one is older but is far from used up. In fact, this one was in the shop just a couple years ago for new strings, latigos, stirrup hobbles, stirrups, and a good once over. Shows normal signs of use and age. Has dried out due to storage, but has already soaked up conditioner. At this price, you can’t go wrong!
