14.5″ Cactus Charmayne James Barrel Saddle

Gosh, this saddle is so cool! We love, love, LOVE this one! This 14.5″ barrel saddle is from the amazing team up of Cactus Saddlery and Charmayne James, designed to keep the rider secure while prioritizing saddle fit and movement of your equine athlete. Nice deep seat with a raised twist, wider seat base, free hung fenders, and is so secure. On WIDE fitting Full QH Bars, measuring 7.5″ with a ton of flare, wide through the full tree, and has nice rock to the bar. Has Cactus’ very popular leather and memory foam underside-rather than fleece or wool-that reduces bulk, gives a closer contact feel, AND reduces slipping of your saddle. This saddle will ride VERY securely, with roughed out jockeys that have ample grip/stick. This saddle has a nice, classic look with tooling on the skirts and is topped off with custom concho gives this a high end feel. Very short skirt at just 24″, taller and more substantial horn at 3.5″, and deep cantle at 3.5″. If we were to bet, this one is on a Buster Welch style tree. Youth friendly, as the fenders have an insane amount of adjustment, meaning this is adult rider friendly, too. This saddle has been well cared for and offers very soft leather. Shows minor scuffs from time and use, but again very minor. This saddle has Cactus’ biothene lined leathers that do show wear, mainly loss of the material with the nylon, stretch resistant inner material now visible. It is safe and usable as is, but will need new stirrup leathers at some point. We have this one on our repair docket, but the price WILL go up once it has new leathers. Grab this one before we put a bit of work into it. This is such a nice saddle. Well made, well cared for, and is one that will surely hold up for many more years to come.
