Is this the prettiest saddle?–No. But is it quality and affordable–OO YES! This Hereford trail saddle has seen lots of ride time, showing that quality saddles last. It is stamped 15, however it offers a pretty seep seat and higher cantle, so measures and fits true to 14.5″. Fits like Semi Bars, measuring 6″ with wide flare, decent wither clearance, and just a bit of rock to the bars. Shorter skirt at 24.5″ and has just a bit of silver (Alpaca Silver) that gives it a nice look, meaning this one can double as a 4-H or local show saddle too! Fenders offer a ton of adjustment, going longer than you’d expect, making this saddle family friendly for most heights of riders. Dark oiled leather that has the perfect amount of classic floral tooling, without being overwhelming. Ok, so why isn’t this the prettiest saddle? It has some cosmetic flaws. Has quite a few scrapes and scuffs, discoloration (both lighter and darker) in many places on the leather, and has a dark and larger jockey on the near side jockey. Overall, it’s been cared for but has been in storage for the last couple years, so is a bit dry. It’s already softened up with just a bit of attention. Comes fitted as well. This one has lots of life left, perfectly broken in, and is so darn affordable!
