15.5″ Circle Y Shawnee Flex Lite Trail Saddle

If you follow us on any of our SM platforms, this is the saddle that had a tree repair with spray foam. Yup, you read that right, it was repaired with SPRAY FOAM…and…when we dug into the tree issues more….the tree literally was sawdust. Needless to say, this saddle has had a FULL overall to include a brand new tree. So, despite being a 2006 model saddle, this one is darn near brand new. The new Flex Lite tree is the exact tree as the previous one, so the serial number plate is still correct. This is an early Shawnee Trail, made on a Flex Lite Tree. The model number is 1653, which is a Shawnee, but is marked Park and Trail on the serial plate. Aside from the tree issue, this saddle has been very well cared for offering incredibly soft dark leather that is so sharp, fully lined with brass dots. Per serial number, this one is a 16″, however, fits and measures like 15.5″. On Circle Y’s regular tree, fitting like QH bars Bars, measuring 6.5″ with nice flare, with ample wither clearance, fitting a bit flatter through the bars. On Circle Y’s Flex Lite tree, a flexible and light weight tree, that is the older version of their popular Flex2 trees. Faux double skirt to keep this saddle lightweight, measuring 27″. 4″ cantle, 3.5″ horn, double rigged and finished off with new nylon latigo straps. Fenders have a ton of adjustability, going shorter than you’d expect. Also comes with nylon rear latigos. Aside from the new tree, this one has been re-fleeced, all new leather over the pommel and horn, all new screws and rosettes, and some stitching repaired. Shows a few scuffs here and there. The re-tree process is always a bit of a jigsaw puzzle so we are not able to use some of the same stitch holes in a few places, but honestly, you’d never know the condition the tree was in before its make over. Here is a great opportunity to get the important parts of the saddle all new, but still perfectly broken in.
