15.5″ Crates Western Trail Saddle

We LOVE Crates Saddles, and sadly they have since closed, so these nice saddles are getting harder and harder to come by. While this may be a ‘plain’ saddle, we absolutely love it and we know you will too! Is an older one, built in the early to mid 2000’s, but has been incredibly well cared for. Build on Semi Bars that measures 6″, offering moderately wide shoulder flare and moderate rock to the bars. This is a great option for a TB/Appendix type horse who have a wider wither but narrower topline. Offers a 15.5″ seat with a semi-deep seat bed and slightly raised twist. Crates is known for making incredibly comfortable saddles with how they shape the seat bed, and this one sure is comfy! Has a surprisingly short skirt with heavy duty Bork brass hardware–this is one you can be sure will hold up. This one was originally a chestnut color, but has darked a bit with time to a rich color. There’s some darkening in spots, mainly the fenders, but is only a color difference. This one has been oiled often, with the leather being incredibly soft. Fenders go surprisingly long, offering plenty of adjustment. Yes, this is a more ‘simple’ looking saddle, but is excellent quality and is just so comfortable.
