15″ Vintage Hereford Western Saddle

$599.00

If we wanted a new vice, other than hoarding tack, it would be a collector of vintage saddles. We’ve seen plenty in our days, however, we have never seen a saddle in this condition. This one has an old, old serial number under the rear skirt, and if we are reading this correctly, this one is from 1973. Don’t tell this saddle that, as its in better condition that saddles a fraction of its age. This thing is STUNNING! In a medium oil, fully hand tooled, that is topped off with buck stitching. 15″, with a higher/raised twist, fitting a bit smaller. On what appears to Semi Bars, measuring 6″, while still offering a wider flare and is quite a bit flatter through the bars. Very short skirt at 25″, has a faux double skirt to help cut down on weight, as this one is built on a wood tree. In an older, Equitation style with a raised twist, roper style duck bill horn, and is so well made. In skirt rigging, fenders that have an insane amount of adjustability, has a very grippy suede seat. 3″ horn, 2″ cantle. Given its age, we have gone through this one completely and its sound as the day its was built. We replaced a few of the screws and put new leather rosettes on it. This saddle has been so well cared for with far less than normal wear. Leather is quite soft. Does have some barn dust in the deep tooling and some minor oxidation on the rigging plate, but again–its in incredible condition given its age. Lord, this thing is nice. This saddle will ride so well, but this one needs to be on display in someone’s house, it is that pretty!
