This Rancher from Colorado Saddlery is the real deal. Built to work and this one will work all day. This saddle is an early version of the modern saddle called “The Buckskin”. This saddle is designed to be a heavy duty rig while still being comfortable for horse and rider. Built on an reinforced Association tree, on wide fitting QH bars measuring 6.5″ with nice shoulder flare and decent rock through the bars. This one will fit a built horse well. Has Bork brass “Perfect Rig” 3-way in skirt rigging, allowing for adjustment of rigging placement and to be rigged flat. 16″ slick seat with a plenty deep seat with a 4.5″ cantle and finished off with a rawhide pencil roll. This type of saddle is often called a “High Back”, one that is designed to keep its rider in the seat securely. 3.5″ x 3″ leather wrapped reinforced post horn. Finished off right with plenty of strings, and comes fully rigged. Mostly smooth dark oiled leather that is a heavier ounce skirting leather, finished off with just a touch of basketweave tooling. 27.5″ double skirt. Fenders have a ton of adjustment, going shorter than you’d expect on a rig like this. If you’re looking for lightweight…this is not the saddle for you. With tack, this one weighs in at 42lbs. This one is has worked for a living, but it’s clear it’s been well cared for. Leather is quite soft, showing less blemishes than you’d expect for a working saddle. Shows a few dings, scrapes, and scuffs but nothing major. This saddle is sound and tight. This is a HECK of a rig, ready to work and won’t break the bank.
