17.5″ Ainsley Vanguard Popular Dressage Saddle

Here is a lovely saddle by English saddler Ainsley, made before many of their saddles became mass produced. If you are fond of Enlgish/UK made saddles but can’t quite swing the cost of the mainstream brands-this is a GREAT option! This lovely saddle is stamped 17.5″, but fits generously-feeling like an 18″. Offers a very narrower twist with a deep seat, with textured calf leather over the seat. The rest of the saddle has smooth leather that is butters soft. This one, despite its age, is a very modern look that the ‘classical riders’ will appreciate. Straighter and longer flap that measures 17″, with a long/moderate block that helps stabilize it’s rider’s leg without being confining. This one is a Medium Wide (#3) fit, measuring 6″. Despite its wide gullet measurement, fits like a MW with more flocking over the shoulders to act as faux shoulder gussets. Has a high head tree, offering ample clearance with a moderate channel. Shorter panel at 19.5″, has 3″ rear gussets. This is a great option for a horse that has a stronger wither and is built more uphill-designed to level out the saddle to improve equitation. Also this is a great option for a leggy or plus size rider! Dressage billets, currently offers a point billet, with a middle tab to have another billet or one moved. Wool flocked and flocking has been well maintained. This is a lovely, affordable, and excellent quality saddle!
