17.5” Frank Baines Balance Felix All Purpose English Saddle

This is such a cool saddle. This Balance International saddle is made by Frank Baines Saddlery in the UK and is nothing short of quality. These saddles are bespoke, from the English Saddle Maker capitol of the world, Walsall, UK. Balance Saddles were created to help fit those…..chunkier….horses out there, which so many saddle brands and builders overlook. So, if you are fond of horses that are more propane tank than actual horse, this saddle is for you! The Felix model is what the Brits call a GDP (General Purpose Dressage)–or what we call a VSD/AP saddle–this is a perfect all arena saddle. Longer, straighter flaps like a dressage saddle while still offering deep seat and narrow twist, padding in all the right places for trail or distance riding, and just a bit blocking under the knee roll to still pop over jumps. This is truly #landhippo friendly, on an 8X wide and hoop tree, legitimately  8″ (with how the flocking is, appears to be 7″, but is stamped with actual measurements). The hoop tree is designed for WIDE horses with shorter and lower tree points in the front, offers a very wide channel, and a short panel (19″) to fit those short backed propane tanks out there.  These saddles fitted wider because the front of the tree had more of an open head shape (flared) although the point to point measurements were similar. This saddle has nice knee rolls and has velcro on the flap to add more blocking. Right now, it has a moderate/long block. AP billeted with rear angled billet to help reduce the rolling that many saddles experience with wide horses. Wool flocked, narrow/low gussets, and short paneled. Very grippy leather with Nubuck leather over the seat and knee rolls that are butter soft. This saddle is frankly in demo condition, seeing 2 or 3 rides, then stored. Seriously, this saddle is pristine and looks like it came straight to us from the UK. There are handful of these awesome saddles on the market right now at this price, in far more used condition. Grab this one way less than retail and without the wait!
