15.5″ Johnny Scott Ranch Roping Saddle

Here is a nice work horse of a saddle for an affordable price! From Johnny Scott Saddles, which doesn’t have near the brand recognition he deserves. He’s the son of hall of fame saddle maker Bob Scott, and has worked with many of the great saddle companies in and near Pilot Point, TX. This is a really nice rig. Built on a reinforced Will James tree, this one is built to hold up to actual work. On QH Bars that measure 6.5″ with a very wide shoulder flare. Has moderate rock through the bars. The shape of this tree is a bit interesting, as the channel of the tree is narrower. This would be perfect for a horse with a strong wither but narrower, weaker, or bony top line. Think of a mid/late teens QH type ranch horse who is still very fit, has a wide shoulder, but has lost a bit of their topline. This would be an outstanding option. Has a true 15.5″ tree with a hard seat. Is full rough out, and paired with the deep and scoopy seat bed, this one one that will keep you bum exactly where you want it. While this is a true roper, its been built to be a bit lighter than most. Has a tight skirt (not deep as measured from center down), equitation cut under your leg, and has a faux double skirt. Simple in its look, no frills or fus on this one. Just a bit of rawhide details on the horn and pencil roll, and a bit of a stamped border on the rear skirts. This saddle has been used but well cared for. Leather is very soft, showing a bit of darkening from ride time and a bit of dust in tight spots, but overall in very good condition. Does not appear to have been roped off of. This is a really nice rig, one that will hold up to daily work, and won’t cost a small fortune!
