17″ Big Horn Gaited Western Trail Saddle

This nice saddle is the perfect cross between a Tucker and a Big Horn–has all the padding you love from a Tucker, with the felted wool underside, but the craftsmanship and the pretty detailing from Big Horn. This Gaited Trail Saddle is just so darn comfy and will fit a horse well. This model (#1701) is called the Walking Horse Trail, specially designed for a Tennessee Walking Horse and similarly built gaited horses. However, don’t let the word “gaited” scare you away. Yes, this one is built on a gaited tree, designed to have a shorter bar on the front, nice rock to the bars, and a very short skirt. This is a great option for many horses with more angle to their top line and a deep shoulder. Fits much like Full QH bars that measure 7″ with good flare and wither clearance, wider through the whole tree. This one is also built on Big Horn’s popular Flex tree, giving a bit more flexibility to fit as well. Set back and dropped double rigging to open the shoulder without adding bulk. The felted wool underside, which Tucker has made so popular, is a great material option to help absorb impact, reduce slippage or rolling, and reduce bulk under the saddle. The deep, deep and heavily padded memory foam seat that is like a cushion! This one has plenty of rings and strings for your packs. Also has a crupper ring. Fenders have a literal ton of adjustment, going surprisingly short and long. Stirrups are not original to the saddle, but match in color perfectly. This saddle has been a favorite of its last rider, but has been well cared for. It does show some mild discoloration, a few cosmetic blemishes such as scuffs, a few minor scrapes, but leather is very soft. This one is just perfectly broken it…and used just enough to make it all that much for affordable!
